What's been going on in maths?

This week we have been learning about measurement in maths. We have been learning how to estimate and measure the length of different objects in our classroom using non standard units (blocks). Here we are hard at work.

  1. This is such a useful skill to have! I hope that red, blue, green, and yellow blocks are of the same length. If you repeat the measurement (on the same object), did you get the same number of blocks? Does it depend on who measured it? - Harry (Carlotta's dad)

    1. Hello Harry,

Yes our blocks are the same length. We had to work hard to make sure there were no gaps between our blocks!

    2. Thank You Mrs Mackenzie, I will visit and see what Charlotte is doing because I live a long way away in Waihi, in the Bay of Plenty, in the North Island so I can't get to visit your class like other nanna's might do.
